design goal.
designing a food delivery system that is connected to an app to create healthy eating routines & a positive mental perspective on food for patients going through cancer.
most cancer patients’ health & quality of life declines due to the inability to enjoy food & eat properly, slowing down treatment progression.
this is a system meant to heal that relationship.
market research.
let’s get into the numbers.
food proportions can be daunting & roughly 40% of meals are discarded because patients can’t eat it all or refuse to eat at all.
treatment adherence is lowered significantly when the body is not properly fed.
33% of patients have weight loss that negatively affects treatment success.
stress, anxiety, & depression increase.
1 in 3 patients said weight loss impacted their treatment tolerability.

Hina’s would be a system that allows for patients to easily adjust their eating needs at the touch of a button on their phone. It’s meant for convenience & comfort.

Hina’s takes all necessary health information in order to analyze & understand what nutrition choices are necessary for the patient to feel their best. it also curates a personal food palette based on picks the user makes.

the profile page allows for customization of goals & food palette, while also including mental motivation through daily quotes.
the caregiver side.
family members or friends are able to sign in as a caregiver in order to see the patient’s progress & what meals are working.
ease in ordering.
able to see a categorized menu with callouts to favorite foods & order at the touch of a button.
chatting with AI.
having the ability to talk to an AI nutritionist that can give you advice on next meals, how to help with treatment symptoms, & more to improve overall patient experience.
tracking.
once the user has ordered their meal, they are able to track their meal’s progress from being prepared in the kitchen all the way to when it is 5 minutes away from final destination.

can see all ingredients, make edits, & see how it adds to your daily goals. all meals show “liked” foods & if they’re high in any of the three food groups to help the user reach their daily goals.
